Thank you - the dominance hierarchy aspects and Might Makes Right aspects of patriarchy are harmful to us all. They teach that you get your way through taking it, and by disregarding empathy for others. It's tightly intertwined with late stage capitalism, which is going to make it sticky and tricky to mitigate, but I do think that talking about this stuff more openly and making the quiet parts more conscious is helpful.

Somewhat ironically, the way of life that most people consider primitive is actually quite sophisticated and intelligent - when you are taught to balance your own autonomy and right to self-determination with the good of the larger group - everyone has a better chance at not just survival, but at happiness. Human beings are highly social animals - and culturally truncating that in favor of "I got mine" beliefs is incredibly isolating and destructive. We absolutely need to do better.
