Thanks and I totally agree that men should be leading the conversation around wounded masculinity and what it means to be a man in the here and now (and not in the 1950s). But for the most part, they are too busy defending that there is nothing wrong with them and being incensed that anyone would suggest that there is. Remember the Gillette ad? Ironically, this is a by-product of just these kinds of wounds at the hands of a patriarchal society, even though male suicide and health problems of both the physical and mental kind due to loneliness and isolation are rampant because of this belief in stoicism and always being in control.

Some men (like you) are doing this work, and women need to be doing theirs, but the gender binary and the expected traits that go with it are still very deeply in our collective subconscious.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
