There's definitely a lot less push-back when this knowledge and the corrections of distortions come from other men, but there's just so much "everyone knows" out there that is flat out wrong that it does need to be addressed as often as possible. The women can have sex anytime they want trope is only one of them. Thanks for pointing out how it's not that simple. If you lay out a huge buffet table filled with rotting meat and stale bread, that doesn't make it a feast. Finding a man she'd like well enough (not just physically) to allow literally inside of her body is not easy. I guess a lot of guys assume they would sleep with any woman who would let them, so women must be the same but not only is that a false equivalency, it's a false assumption and really just one of those Man Box narratives.

Men absolutely need quality male mentors and guys they respect who are putting forth healthy norms and beliefs as a function of being a leader - for the good of women, but also for men themselves.
