One of the reasons that I wrote this is when I’ve alluded to my age in my writing, I’ve gotten the same response you gave -that they imagined me as much younger. And like I said, I’m not trying to be anything other than who I actually am, and I suppose I don’t really lead a typical 55-year-old existence. But that’s also available to anyone who wants to pursue it.

I’ve read a fair amount recently about how gay male culture embraces so much of patriarchy, despite the obvious ways that it wants to not be that. Maybe we can “talk” about this in a piece on Medium at some point.
