Thanks for recommending it to me. I've been trying to figure out how to write something incorporating some of what I learned there, and then bam, that article brought it all into focus.

I just don't understand to this desire to have a binary. Why can't we let people be people? I'm thinking about writing something about my autistic son, who is oblivious to cultural expectations. Even at 24, he does "boy" things and he does "girl" things because he doesn't know or care that he "shouldn't." He's just a human being doing what interests him, and I love that about him.
