Thanks for sharing all of that. It may seem innocuous to some, but when you start to examine the deeper implications, such as the ones that you mentioned, it begins to become more clear. Some gay men call each other “girl” or refer to men they are interested in as “boys” and I’m not going to attempt to untangle that, but I personally do not want to be minimized or cutesified and there is no legitimate reason why I should be or should stand for that.
