Thanks for sharing all of this and for participating in the prompt. I’ve been thinking about a lot of these same things lately since I have a couple of moms in my life who are feeling a bit overwhelmed by all that it takes to do that and we’ve been talking about it. I love my son fiercely but I recently wondered aloud if I would have made the choice to have a child if I’d really understood how much of myself I would have to sublimate in order to do so. I think the answer is just that I would have set better boundaries but that isn’t the narrative, is it?
