Thanks for sharing that. If she knew enough to just let you vent and hold space for you to do that, she probably didn't think you any less manly. The research I've seen indicates that younger women in particular really want an emotionally fluent man and it's men who assume they don't because it doesn't fit traditional male metrics, and project that as being how women feel. Vulnerability like that is very intimate and most women want that sort of intimacy with their guy.
