Thanks for this fascinating addition, Jim. I always enjoy hearing your scholarly two cents. My Muslim friend told me (over a bottle of red wine) that Islam had been corrupted, and in it's original form was very respectful and inclusive of women, although I don't think Allah had a wife, so that balance part is still missing. There are so many ways that a pantheon makes more sense, representing the different aspects and elements of the Divine, but it really is deluded and chauvinistic to imagine a man as the source of all life.
