Thanks for your comment. I think that in large part we've all grown up inside of patriarchal structures and it takes a lot of work and intention to deprogram from them. Then there are the folks who don't even realize that there is anything wrong with such a dominance based hierarchy. They've bought into the notion that to be in authority means to be completely in control and never show anything less than total confidence in their position. Meanwhile, the strongest people are the ones who can be self-reflective, and vulnerable and admit to mistakes.

There's actually a lot of issue with this in the personal growth world, which is a shame, but I think it speaks to the ways that power corrupts, particularly when someone thinks they are "beyond" having someone to call them on their BS.
