Thanks for your kind words, and for sharing that about your life. I totally agree that gender is much too narrowly viewed still. It's an interesting thing to hear you say that you aren't "manly" looking. I'm not either, and yet that doesn't seem to be the part that is being "read" as masculine. Sorry to hear you get questioned about bathrooms. To me, that's worse then being called sir (which incidentally hasn't happened to me since I wrote that story). And, I'm with you that I hope society can evolve past these narrow constructs of gender sometime in the not too distant future.
