Thanks! I was fortunate in that my husband didn't have a strong preference. My father had recently died and I was acutely feeling the dwindling of our otherwise small family, so he understood why I wanted to keep my name. I don't think there is any right or wrong way to do the name thing - but I really did want more people to know that our culture's usual way is far from universal.
