Thanks — I’ll check that out. From what I’ve already read this year in researching this, it’s a part of the larger dynamic of a world based in constant on-going domination. I’ll be curious to see what the book has to say and how that relates.

Once the northern tribes took over, all the art and pottery stopped reflecting beauty, love, the goddess, etc. and started reflecting war chiefs, slaves, battles, and various gods wielding various weapons. Open settlements that had little fortification suddenly had to be relocated to more defensive positions, etc., etc. It’s one of the ways that we can reasonably assume that war and fighting were not common aspects of life until that time.
