Thanks so much for sharing this and glad to have my thesis confirmed. The culture teaches that the male gaze is important - after all, it's a patriarchal dominance hierarchy, and so why wouldn't it? But women no longer buy into that in the way that they might have in the 1950s. Now we just need to get some guys to come around to that as well.
