Thanks so much for these further examples. I was focusing on current cultures or at least those from the fairly recent past, but this all adds nuance to that picture. I knew about Beltane and about Isthar/Inanna but only a very small bit about the others based on what you’d said once before, but I appreciated hearing more about them all. I’ve been wanting to do a further piece on sacred sexuality and particularly on the hieros gamos, but I haven’t yet gotten to it yet.
