That isn't even REMOTELY what he said. He simply said that it's not worse than women's loneliness -something that is a current narrative amongst certain men. The last sentences of his story were very literally, "I care about human suffering. I know we can do better for those lonely guys." I don't get what about that is the least bit ambiguous. Caring human beings care about all people, even if it's not their specific job to fix things for them.
I'm sorry you got lost in the conversation, but I don't really think that any of it was "technical."
