That particular study referred to young women in the US, so yes, I should have made that more clear, however within the US, no socio-economic distinctions were made. None-the-less, women around the world feel more sexually open and responsive when they also feel safe. There is no difference between a woman in Dakar or in Cleveland.

What that quote means is that we are currently measuring what women are willing to admit to in a society that still shames them for being sexual beings rather than their actual sexual interests or desires. Some studies indicate that women are actually naturally more sexual than men, but you wouldn’t know that from the way it’s been studied in the past, and the cultural narratives that surround female sexuality, such as the one that says women need emotional intimacy to feel sexual.

In another study, when sensors were strapped to the genitals of both men and women to measure their sexual responses and they were shown a variety of explicit images, straight men responded to pictures of men and women together. Homosexual men responded to guys with guys. Women responded to anything and everything, including monkeys fucking.

This seems to have rattled some kind of preconceived notion of yours. You’re welcome!

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
