That's certainly a part of the problematic dynamic. And I'm glad you've come around to realizing just how pervasive this is in women's experience. Our culture turns a blind eye a lot of the time, which allows it to go on. It doesn't matter if individual men do or don't do it because the dominant culture of masculinity tacitly allows for it to be pervasive. In cultures where that isn't the case, it doesn't happen.
