That’s lovely how both you and Peterson have decided for others what hurts them, what they care about, what matters to them, what is reasonable and what is not. Peterson is all about the individual — until it comes time to actually treat someone as an individual in a way that he doesn’t approve of. These are words from his own mouth:
“I don’t recognize another person’s right to determine what pronouns I use to address them. I won’t do it.”
“There can be no such thing as a non-binary pronoun because there are no non-binary sexes, and there can be no such thing as a neutral pronoun because there are no non-sexed bodies.”
You are also making it sound likes hordes of transgender people even exist in the first place (most studies say less than 1%), much less would demand thousands upon thousands of different pronouns. That’s a deflection and not speaking to a real issue — which is what I original identified it as.
Then there’s the fact that (in the US and I’ll bet in Canada too) your employer can make all kinds of rules and restrictions, and as long as they aren’t illegal ones, if you want to work there, you have to follow those. That’s a part of the hierarchy that Peterson is always touting as right and good — until those above him on it start telling him something he doesn’t like.
