That's most likely true but for the reasons I already named - a two parent household is likely more economically stable and children need to have 3 adults they feel safe with and can count on. A two-parent family potentially provides 2 of those.

I don't see how we can realistically "encourage" two parent families but it would be a great idea to better embrace the "it takes a village" model.
