That's pretty rich, considering that women who defend themselves against abusive men end up in jail most of the time and that marital rape wasn’t illegal in all states until 1993 — and there are still loopholes.

“Men, on average, are sentenced to two to six years in prison for murdering a female partner, according to the ACLU. But when women kill their male partners (which is often in self-defense), they get an average of 15 years. Fifteen years. Fifteen years for fighting back. Fifteen years for protecting themselves. Fifteen years for surviving.

"For example, in California, spousal rape was recognized as a crime in 1979, but it wasn’t until 2021 that it came to be considered just as serious a crime as raping someone else. No more exemptions for accessing your sleeping wife or passed out drunk wife without her consent either (something which used to be seen as fraud, not rape), and no requirements of proof of resisting forceful advances — which used to be the standard."

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
