Wealth inequality is a big part of the picture, but so is every other sort of social stratification that isn't based on merit. That's why it's a dominance hierarchy. Power differentials between women and men are only one part of the equation and they arose at the same time as other sorts of stratifications broadly related to the rise of agriculture but also other things as well.
