The definition of toxic masculinity is otherwise healthy masculine traits taken to an unhealthy extreme. That's something that I very clearly stated. What Jessica described was not toxic femininity because it was not traditionally feminine traits (nurturing, empathy, tenderness, receptivity, intuition) taken to an unhealthy extreme.
I'm not even entirely sure what toxic femininity would look like but that doesn't mean that women can't be jerks or bad partners, something that I also already said very clearly. That term is just not the technically correct one. Do you have a reading problem? I said it, underlined it, left a note at the bottom reinforcing what I'd said above. What exactly is the issue?
And no, it’s not just before puberty that men are more emotional. Most men are entirely run by their stuffed and disavowed emotions from behind the scenes. It doesn't look the same as women being guided by their emotions, but it's there just the same.
“This study suggests that men feel emotion just as much as women, sometimes more strongly, but are less willing to express these emotions openly due to expectations put on them by society.” (link to the study and others in the story below)
"People who have no real access to their emotional landscape are destined to be run by those very emotions from behind the scenes, like a puppet master pulling strings. They react, rather than respond and otherwise lash out at things that poke at their sore spots without even quite knowing why."
Hmm, who does that sound like? I wonder...
