The question is not whether or not parents of any gender often hurt their children. The question is whether or not this is due to the gender of the child. Few mothers (or fathers) hurt their boy simply because he is a boy, etc. They are not anti-male, because almost no-one is actually anti-male (or anti-female). They hurt their children for more complex reasons that often have more to do with their own demons and wounding than anything else.

This was the very first paragraph of my story:

"I suppose it’s possible to be anti-male and be the parent of a boy child, but in truth, very few women are truly anti-male, whether they have boys or not. Most of what looks like misandry is actually emotional fatigue around the pervasive negative experiences that so many women have had their entire lives starting at a young age. They aren’t mad at all men, but they are fed up with the ones who continually abuse, harass, and dismiss them, as well as the ones who turn a blind eye and allow that to happen.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
