The "role" of men has been to control women and run society with them in a legally marginalized and socially subservient position. That needed to be demolished. The fact that so many men's identity is intrinsically tied to that is kind of too bad. It's time for them to figure out how to be good human beings without this need for artificial and unearned privilege.
