There are a small number of religious/conservative women who want to uphold this system and a vast number of men of all social and political stripes. Even men who consider themselves progressives are often indistinguishable from conservatives on this topic. A while back I wrote a story about that, as did about 5 of my female Medium friends, so it's not just me who observes that dynamic and sees it as a problem.

If you still can't discern the difference between a pervasive dynamic and "not all men" then you are going to continue to get yourself into a defensive uproar over nothing. If you were paying attention instead of looking for a way to be offended you would have noticed that I said "so many of them" rather than "all of them." What I said doesn't imply anything. I very clearly stated what I meant - that so many men (too many) act that way. I didn't say all. If I'd meant all, I would have said that, but I didn't.

If you persist in leaving knee-jerk comments that don't pay attention to what I actually said, I'm no longer going to respond to them.
