There is absolutely a lot of bias still against women's sports, but this is starting to change, at least a little bit. A recent football game at Nebraska was eclipsed by their women's volleyball team. 52k more people watched the volleyball match than the football game, and Nebraska is a pretty big football school, so this says a lot. I think sport is one of the ways that we can effectively begin to erode some of these old narratives even though they are deeply entrenched in our collective subconscious.
