There’s so much programming around relationships and committed, married, relationships in particular in this culture. It’s hard to figure out what you really want and who you really are in those confines. Having small children at home also works against that.

We were 25+ years in before we started talking about this kind of thing and realizing that we’d like to connect with and share love and sex with other people. We never talked about it before because we didn’t think we could. After all, we were married! 🙄We are not wife-swappers; we are not swingers; but we are into polyamory. It fits who we actually are and what we are truly like, both as individuals and as a couple, very well.
