They have the love of their sister’s children and take a parental role there but by the standards of our culture, it’s not ideal. One of the prompts for this piece was a guy saying to me that socialization was reality, and what he meant was that all men have been socialized the same and all women so there’s no getting away from that. One of the main points I’m making is that this is clearly not true.
