This is a very concerning situation, but Trump got only 49% of the popular vote. A huge number of Americans didn't vote at all, meaning that something like only 39% of people actually wanted him to be the President. I do think at least some of them are going be less thrilled with him after the next hurricane hits them, or when their economic interests have been harmed in many ways, and for many months in a row. Sure, some die hards will keep supporting him but I think a bunch of them probably will not (at least that's what I'm hoping for).

That being said, this shit is scary, and it's profoundly disturbing that the party of "law and order" and the Constitution has no issue with throwing all of that out the window when it's expedient. As Liz Cheney has noted, history will not be kind to these people, and I just hope that there is enough dissatisfaction in two years to take back Congress and maybe put a halt to at least some of this BS.

I am, however, disheartened by how many "reasonable" people just don't seem to care what is happening to democracy. I guess they think that if they are straight, white Christians, nothing bad will happen to them and that is a huge mistake. It's a really troubling time, for sure.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
