This is a very measured, reasonable piece that I wish all of you who are up in arms in an emotional tizzy about trans people would bother to read. Here are the highlights:

"Unsurprisingly, countries such as Portugal and Ireland, which have introduced Self ID, have not seen an increase in cis male predators using GRC equivalents to access women’s spaces.

This is true. You can be sacked for saying sex is real. You can also be sacked for saying Mohammed was not a prophet, Liverpool fans are hooligans, a woman’s place is in the home, or any number of expressions of belief.

This is true. High profile Gender Critical women are the subject of appalling abuse on Twitter and social media, extending to death threats, threats of sexual violence, and threats aimed at their families. High profile supporters of trans people, such as the late Dawn Foster, Laurie Penny, and Ash Sarkar, are also on the receiving end of this filth. Trans people too, are bombarded with hate, mockery, abuse and threats online. The common problem is our toxic social media environment, which seems to intensify the misogyny inherent in our societies, so that any woman who expresses an opinion is immediately deluged with monstrous abuse.

Every demographic, including the trans community, has its share of despicable abusers. The evidence across social media is that women who speak out in public attract this abuse, no matter what issue they are discussing, and no matter what side of any debate they happen to be on. Linking trans people in general with the appalling behaviour of online abusers is the same sort of contemptible scapegoating of a minority that is rightly condemned when perpetrated by the likes of the Daily Mail, and all such insinuations are far from being reasonable."

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
