But, there is pretty much nobody in the West who uses it for that meaning.

And you probably already know this but intergenerational trauma has been verified by science, at least as far back as grandparents, but possibly even further. And it's not just in the psyche - it actually changes the DNA. So, I'm sending you a big ole hug, because you've had a lot to grapple with recently.
