This is SO important. Too many guys try to skirt having to change the culture by noting that it can be dangerous to interfere in an ongoing "event." As you noted, we're less interested in that part, and more interested in preventing this shit in the first place - by making it clear long before any particular incident that you don't condone or participate in marginalizing, objectifying or denigrating women. Caring more about whether or not other guys will see you as a "real man" than about whether that comes at a woman's expense is a huge part of the problem and it leads to a culture of violence against women and sexual violence in particular.
