This is something that is very well documented. Those with more institutional power get believed over those with less, from pedaphile priests, to the Harvey Weinsteins of the world, to the former Queen of Nice. I used to really love Ellen and I hate to keep hearing this stuff about her, but the body of evidence tells a different story than the spin. They say that power corrupts and that absolute power corrupts absolutely. I think she's a case in point. Comedy depends on creating tension and then releasing it with something that brings the laugh and a good interviewer gets her subjects to reveal things that they don't to other people, but when there's a nasty undertone, that's not cool.
