This is super interesting. My son is non-verbal but also a highly visual thinker. He can sign and use a voice output device, but sometimes it's hard for him to put into words what he's trying to convey. Being able to transmit images to us someday would help him immensely to communicate. I can see the potential dowsides of this technology as you've explained them, but it would sure help him a lot if it ever did become viable.
