This is very true. Unfortunately, one of the manifestations of this that I have often been exposed to is that if you (at least if I, a woman) point out the destructive and negative aspects of the dominance hierarchy, most men don't actual go "Aha - you're right - that is the problem." No, they defend it tooth and nail because it seems that to say that the system is problematic is somehow acknowledging failure to succeed within the system.

I write about this stuff all of the time, talking in nearly every story about how this patriarchal dominance hierarchy harms men too, and although there's a little bit of good reception in some quarters, for a whole lot of men, it seems to feel like an insult of some kind. It's a real issue because I think in order for things to change, men are going to have to lead the charge, but if they don't want to - if they'd rather turn to Andrew Tate or Jordan Peterson instead and try to turn back the clock to 1950 - then we're gonna have problems.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
