This is yet another one of those hearsay narratives that guys tell each other and for the most part, it's not true at all. Attractive guys are just as capable of being creepy as less attractive ones, and the thing that actually differentiates creepy from non is how the guy interacts with the woman. Does he talk to her like a person he would like to get to know or does he approach her like a commodity he would like to acquire? If she's not interested in getting to know him, does he act like an adult and walk away with the knowledge that this is not some sort of referendum on his value as a human being - she's simply not interested for whatever personal reason. Maybe she's distracted by something that is worrying her; maybe there's just no chemistry. It doesn't matter, she's got every right to not be receptive to an expression of interest and the level of entitlement that claims women ought to be receptive to it when they don't feel it is astronomical these days. It's really quite shocking to me how petty, and angry, and entitled so many men are to women's time, attention, interest, and affection. She's a person, not a GD doll that is somehow owed to men just because they want her.

The way to not be seen as creepy is to not be fucking creepy. Act like an adult, treat her like a fellow human being, accept her potential lack of interest in you with grace, and not as a personal affront to your ego. And for the love of Mike, stop passing stories around about how things are going to go that you have never even attempted just so that you can sit back and scapegoat women without having to actually put yourself out there. (You meaning one, not you Tee)

Maybe better looking guys have more confidence that if this particular woman isn’t interested in them, another one will be, and so they handle the situation better — but geez, failing to recognize that desperate, grasping, energy is going to come off as creepy is a big part of the problem.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
