This sadly still happens all the time, from athletes to Addidas keeping it's relationship with Kanye West, even though he was so difficult and problematic that they constantly switched "handlers." Plus, there's still kind of this (subconscious) belief that these are the perks of wealth and fame for men.

I've struggled with this whole scenario a lot as well. I have been a huge fan and really saw him as a bright light in a dark world. It's hard to come to terms with the fact that isn't really the case. Thanks for writing such a smart and sensitive piece about a difficult topic.
