This was a great piece! What bugs me most about these naysayers is that they are so worried about being personally painted as racist or hateful when what the program is trying to do is the exact opposite - to illuminate how societal factors that are about more than any one individual are at the root. I face this all of the time in the things that I write about as well. It's just so much easier for many people in a highly individualistic culture to want to blame those who create harm overtly because they are filled with malice (which is not them). This is instead of recogniing that most racism (and other forms of discrimination) are not about that at all - it's largely subconscious and baked into our social system. But, because that doesn't 100% absolve them, they get all defensive and angry about it.

It will certainly be interesting to see what comes of all of this.
