This whole idea that talking about problems is divisive and harmful is just a cop out. It’s only divisive because there’s so much backlash from the perpetrators. If they’d take responsibility for their bad behavior there wouldn’t be any divisiveness. The alternative is to require victims to keep silent. It’s the moral equivalent of blaming a woman who has been sexually harassed for disrupting the pleasant atmosphere of the office by bringing that up. Which is something that many companies and offices have historically done. TimesUp for that kind of thing!
