Unfortunately, you missed the point of this story. "Yes, confidence is always a good thing and something that pretty much everyone finds attractive, but real confidence comes from knowing who you are and owning that."

If you don't find yourself attractive, interesting, or having much to offer, why would any woman? If you find yourself pitiful, so will women. Go ask your friends who tell you that you are a great catch to be really honest with you about where you can improve - either your look, or how you otherwise present yourself. If you've been told that you are ugly and obnoxious, do something about that. There are all sorts of plain and even ugly men who have mates because they have great personalities and/or they've learned to effectively work with what they have - , and if you are obnoxious then learn how to stop being that.

Stop bemoaning the fact that you haven't found a mate and go lead an interesting and fulfilling life. That's when you are most likely to find someone, and even if you never do, you'll at least have had an interesting and fulfilling life. Your self-pity and defeatist attitude is your biggest obstacle. Women can smell that a mile away and it is a huge turn-off.
