Very good point. I wrote about this a long time ago in a story about incels which says the exact same thing, that failing to "win" by the perceived rules of the game leads not to rejection of the entire system but to the blame of others who are also harmed by it. Blaming the system feels like even more of a failure than not achieving in it, so let's scapegoat someone instead.
I think the only way to break free is to finally recognize that the game itself is the issue - which is why I write about it so much.
