Walking home a girl or a woman in a world where they are routinely harmed and killed when they are alone is not infantallizing them. I can't even believe that you said that. It's not remotely the same thing as letting a boy grow up without knowing how to do the basics of cooking, laundry, and self care and expecting his mother and other female relatives to do those things for him.
