Well, first of all, I hadn't read that story yet and second of all, she's not saying remotely the same thing that you are. She's talking about feminism moving away from seeking collective change, and getting mired in self-centered materialism and the chance to be some sort of influencer. There's plenty of room to critique feminism; I've done it myself some but that's a lot different than someone who clearly hasn't read much feminist thought or actually truly listened to a lot of women deciding he's going to ride in and White Knight it for us - and then having a hissy fit that women aren't more grateful to him about that, so he turns on the selfish bitches.

At this point, you're essentially an anti-feminist. As far as I can see, you spend the bulk of your time complaining about what's wrong with women, and with feminism in particular, with just a small bit of advice for what men can do in spite of the fact that feminism is terrible. I'm not sure what your motive is, but it's certainly not equality and it's certainly not helpful.

"They avoid using women for vicarious emotional expression…. When they err—and they do err—they look to women for guidance, and receive criticism with gratitude." ~bh.

And I'll add, Good Men don't center themselves in the narrative. They don't make the struggle for women's fundamental human rights an opportunity for them to be validated or their experiences to be the most important aspect of that struggle. Good Men understand how fighting for women benefits men in dozens of ways, even if it's not directly centered on men's issues - longer life, better health, greater happiness, to say nothing of the fact that men get the opportunity to reclaim the parts of their soul that patriarchy has stolen from them.

I'm not saying any of this to be antagonistic. I'm saying it because I think you really could be a valuable ally, if you step back and actually learn from feminist leaders - about power, about privilege, about how to best be a meaningful advocate - and then speak.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
