Well, if you aren't from the US, that does explain some of the disconnect. Patriarchy in the US is on steroids compared to most of Europe. It explains why you think Greene is off base, but he's right on target for what is happening in my culture - if not in yours. It's something that lines up rather neatly with the particularly brutal brand of capitalism that we practice here.
