We've all been conditioned to think that way, which is one of the reasons that I write about it so often. My husband and I were pretty happy together as a monogamous pair for 20 years, but when we kind of stumbled into polyamory, we discovered a relationship paradigm that actually works better for us and is a more natural fit for who we really are. Perhaps that's not the case for everyone, but how many people will never get the chance to discover that because they've only been given one choice?
