What's in it for men is less isolation and a decrease in the epidemic of lonliness that is currently driving suicide rates and other health issues related to this for men. It's the chance to become a full, whole human being rather than the very thin sliver that patriarchal masculinity allows. It means less asshole bosses (and so called friends) who try to dominate everyone around them as a way to gain status and a culture with more genuine connection. It also means more sex for men.

"Societies where women have a lot of autonomy and share in authority tend to be very male-friendly, tolerant, relaxed, and sex-positive. This may have been overlooked in the past because it was just assumed that a culture full of happy, contented males means it is because they are wielding patriarchal power, even though this wasn’t the case."

Embracing this won't destroy your life, it will give you your life back. Sure, there may be some pushback along the way, but anything worth having isn't going to be easy. Patriarchy has taught you that if you don't win at someone else's expense, you haven't actually won, but that's a piss-poor way to live. How many real friends do you actually have right now? How many many people can you be very honest with about who you are and what is going on for you in your life? Statistics indicate that most men have none, or one such friend - hence the epidemic of lonliness. Are you actually happy now playing this little dominance hierarchy game? I seriously doubt it.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
