When people talk about "traditional values" what they mean is social hierarchy predicated on immutable traits like gender, race, and sexuality. They don't mean things like integrity, self-responsibility, loving your neighbor as yourself, and protecting those who are weaker or have less power. Those are the only types of "traditional" values that I'm interested in. You've made a very good point that we can't solve modern problems with outdated ideas.
