A HUGE number of football wives are doing intensive caregiving for men who got their brains banged around for dozens of years, to their detriment. Not wanting to see that happen to your man, and not wanting to become a live-in nurse in your 40s is NOT selfish.
Newsflash guys, in this day and age, unless you marry a religious conservative, you are NOT the head of the family, or the center of the family. You have to participate in partnership and larger family dynamics without centering yourself only.
