While that nutshell has some validity, it doesn't tell the whole story - which is my point. My friends are not racists, and I doubt the 10 gay couples Jess knows who voted for Trump are either since she wouldn't hang around with people who are. It also doesn't explain the upsurge in Latino voters for Trump or why 12% of gay folks voted for him. It's a story that "makes sense" and human brains like that, but it doesn't actually add up.
